Witkin & Witkin

Trisha Ziff. 2017 – Mexico

90 minutes. English with Spanish subtitles.

Witkin & Witkin explores the worlds of twins Joel-Peter, world-famous photographer, and Jerome, painter and educator. It is an intensely human film that deals with the philosophy of their practices, their art and their personal relationship. Thanks to this intimate access we will get to know the women who have been part of their lives and who give us access to their worlds, beyond their images. It is also a film about perception and aging, about two artists working in different media, who shared a childhood but whose lives took very different directions.

Director Trisha Ziff (The Mexican Suitcase) spent a lot of time with them in their studios, both in Syracuse and in Albuque, knowing realities that could not be less similar. Filmed over 4 years, Witkin y Witkin documents the changes artists experience as time tells its own distinct and disparate narrative.
